CAP S.A. EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP TEAM
Nicolás Burr holds B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering and a M.S. degree in Engineering from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He also holds an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management and an MPA from the London School of Economics.
Burr has extensive experience in new business development and internationalization strategies, as well as in the implementation of alliances, mergers, acquisitions and productivity improvements. Before joining CAP in 2022, he was Manager of the Efficiency and Productivity Division of Banco de Chile, reporting to the CEO of the bank.
Between 2015 and 2020, Nicolás Burr served as Corporate CFO and member of the Executive Committee of Hapag-Lloyd, based in Hamburg, Germany. Between 2012 and 2015 he served as CFO of Compañía Sudamericana de Vapores.
Felipe holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María and an MBA from Stanford University.
Gazitúa brings extensive expertise in Strategy, Finance, and Operations to the company. He began his career in investor relations and evaluating investment opportunities. Before CAP, Felipe worked as a Partner at BCG, where he collaborated with leading mining and industrial companies in the region.
Jorge Lagos is a biologist with a specialization in Environment and Natural Resources from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, and holds a Master’s degree in Human Settlements and Environment from the same university. Additionally, he has completed studies in Corporate Governance and Corporate Responsibility.
With over 20 years of experience in both the public and private sectors, Lagos has held various managerial positions in Corporate Affairs, Sustainability, Environment, Stakeholder Relations, and Corporate Reputation. His expertise and commitment to making a positive impact in these areas have led him to contribute to companies such as Codelco, Transelec, and AES Andes, as well as the public sector, where he served as the national head of the Environmental Impact Assessment System.
Moreover, Jorge Lagos has also served as a professor of Environmental Management in the Master’s in Industrial Engineering (MII) and in the Master’s in Administration and Construction (MAC) programs at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile.
Patricia López holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, as well as an MBA from ESE Business School, Universidad de los Andes. She has more than 25 years of experience in infrastructure and the port industry, having worked in project and business development, finance and management control. Before joining CAP in 2020, Ms. Lopez served as the CFO for SAAM, CEO for EP Austral, and Business Development Manager at Ultramar.
Joaquín Pérez holds a B.S. in Accounting and Auditing from Universidad de Santiago de Chile, a B.S. in Business Administration from Universidad Arturo Prat, as well as a Masters in Tax Management and Planning from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez. Mr. Pérez has more than 35 years of professional experience and 20 years of experience auditing mining companies, such as Antofagasta Minerals and SCM Lumina Copper. Before joining CAP in 2020, Mr. Pérez served as the Internal Audit Manager for Empresas Hites, a Chilean company in the retail sector.
Raimundo Gueneau de Mussy is a Civil Engineer from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and an MBA graduate from Harvard University (Boston, USA). He has over 10 years of experience in business development, financing structuring, and M&A transactions, with a special focus on the mining, energy, and infrastructure industries. Prior to joining CAP S.A., he worked in Switzerland as a Private Equity Investment Manager at Pala Investments, an investment fund specializing in critical materials for the energy transition. He developed his early career at GEM Mining Consulting, Asset Chile, and BHP, leading multiple strategic projects in Chile and Latin America.
Daniel Carvallo is a lawyer from Universidad de Chile, with an LL.M. in Corporate Law from the London School of Economics (LSE) and Political Science (2013) and a Chevening Scholar (2013). He has over 15 years of experience in various areas, including corporate law, finance, competition law, natural resources and environmental law, and litigation. Prior to joining CAP, he worked at prestigious law firms such as Urrutia & Cia., Bofill Mir & Álvarez Jana, and Carey & Cia., in the public sector at the Fiscalía Nacional Económica, and in the legal department of Falabella S.A.
ADMINISTRATION OF OPERATING COMPANIES
Francisco Carvajal is a Mines Civil Engineer from Universidad de Antofagasta, has a Diploma in Business Management from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and holds an MBA from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez. He has held various positions in prestigious mining companies, such as Codelco, Antofagasta Minerals and Compañía Minera Doña Inés de Collahuasi SCM, his last position, where he served as Executive Vicepresident of Operations.
Jean Paul Sauré is an Industrial Civil Engineer from Universidad de Concepción and holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Universidad del Desarrollo. He has 21 years of experience at Compañía Siderúrgica Huachipato, where he has developed his career in various areas of the company, with a particular focus on projects. He eventually became the Projects and Development Manager, before becoming CEO.
Patricio Merello is an Industrial Civil Engineer from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and holds an MBA from the European Institute of Business Administration (INSEAD).
